Thanks to the awesome people over at TV Guide, we have a new behind-the-scenes video of Sam and Caitriona’s photo shoot from earlier this year. Enjoy!
Diana Gabaldon has just posted the official mass market and trade paperback tie-in cover for Outlander, which is set to hit stores and online retailers on July 1st. The new cover artwork showcases one of the recently-released stills from the television production, featuring Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan as Clarie and Jamie.
What do you think of the tie-in cover? Do you like the production still they used to represent the book?
Let the countdown begin! Earlier today, Starz announced the official premiere date for the upcoming adaptation of “Outlander,” which will air on the US network beginning on August 9th at pm ET/PT. Starz also debuted the new poster for the series, which features the tagline, “What if your future was the past?”
I’m loving the new poster. What do you think? Does it capture the essence of “Outlander?”
Starz has just released the official trailer for their upcoming adaptation of “Outlander,” based on the best-selling series by Diana Gabaldon, premiering this summer on the network. We are huge fans of the series here at Bookshelf Banter, and are eagerly awaiting anything and everything to do with this amazing series. Eek! Did we mention we were a little obsessed? Check out the new trailer video below, and tell us what you think! Any favorite scenes you’re looking forward to?
From Starz: About Outlander: The “Outlander” series spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history, and adventure in one epic tale. The series, adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s international best-selling books by Ronald D. Moore (“Battlestar Galactica,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation”), is currently filming on location in Scotland and is set to premiere on STARZ this Summer. It follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945, who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743. Upon her arrival, she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. But when she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited. Now, Claire’s heart is torn between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives. Hang on to your kilts! Thanks to the awesome people over at Starz, I was able take part in the Outlander fan event at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles this weekend. Diana Gabaldon’s epic book series has been going strong for more than two decades now, and the action and romance is about to come to life on the small screen. Producer Ron Moore (of Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica fame) is bringing the story to life as a new Starz television series, to air this summer on the network. Fans from all over the country came to take part in a panel Q&A with author Gabaldon, producer Moore, and lead cast members Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, who all took the chaos of the fandom completely in stride. The event kicked off with some amazing conceptual artwork for the sets of Outlander, all of which looked amazing. But the absolute best part of the afternoon was seeing the trailer for the very first time. You guys! Let’s talk about that trailer. Claire, ’40s fashion, WWII, standing stones, Jamie on a horse-need I say more? The footage looks incredible, and it leaves me DYING for the premiere (set for this summer)! Take a look at all the goodness below:
*Sigh* Okay, now that I’ve seen that trailer a couple of dozen times, let me say that if you haven’t read Diana’s series, you really must. Like, go now and get a copy. If you’re a long-time fan, your painful wait is almost over. After listening to the actors and their responses to all of the fan questions and comments, I am totally sold on their dedication to the roles. If you missed the live stream of the event, you can watch the entire event below (skip over to an hour and 16 minutes in to get started), and check out some of my pics from the fan gathering.
A huge thank you to Starz for a well-organized (seriously one of the best-run fandom experiences ever) event and lovely tea service. You rock! Be sure to check out their site for more content related to the production.
